Graston Technique (GT) is a soft tissue technique that breaks up scar tissue and adhesions found in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. These restrictions in the soft tissues can be due to an injury, chronic overuse or repetitive motions. The adhesions can limit movement and cause pain or discomfort.

The doctor uses six stainless steel instruments to locate and treat areas with fibrous adhesions. Instruments are applied with light pressure, gliding over areas of restriction. This process breaks up adhesions, restoring the tissue to a healthy state.

Treatment time is approximately 15 minutes and is usually scheduled twice a week for up to 4-5 weeks. Most patients notice significant improvements by the second or third visit. Stretches are used in conjunction with treatments to speed up the healing process and promote healthy tissue growth.
